The preceding quote from Albert Schweitzer describes our view of the work in Tanzania quite well. Those who have experienced the joy and gratitude of the people of Africa know how much joy and hope can be spread with only some little effort. In return, one receives nothing less than respect and sometimes friendship.
And the smile of a mother who looks a little more hopeful about the future of their children or the bright eyes of a child at the sight of a new toy compensate for grueling and deprivation. In this sense:
