“Nkondo Hilfe e.V.”
There already was a partnership between the protestant congregation of Heiligenhafen (town in northern Germany) and the village of Nkondo in Tanzania since 1998. The partnership aims to support the people living in Nkondo and to facilitate mutual cultural exchange.
Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in Africa and outside the tourist-oriented coastal areas in the east, people live under primitive conditions. The lives of the people in the sourthern part of Tanzania are formed by the everyday concern for the livelihood of their families, living in small huts without electricity or running water, and several hours of field work.
In order to make the help for Nkondo even more direct and less bureaucratic, we have thought about an independent, non-profit association for a long time. In the fall of 2011, a handful of dedicated friends of Tanzania joined together and eventually we initiated the nonprofit organization “Nkondo Hilfe e.V.”
Without bureaucratic obstacles, we are now able to invest all donations into social projects in Nkondo and the surrounding villages. Through this organisation, we are able to make quick decision, and provide short term assistance if need be.
All members are unpaid volunteers who invest their time and money for a good cause, without salary or any other benefits.
