The orphanage in Matamba

Already in 2005 the foundation for a small orphanage in Matamba was placed. After four years of planning and construction finally, in 2009, the first children could move in. The orphanage can accommodate 14 children, of which 12 spaces are currently occupied. Two teachers take care of two to six year old children around the clock to form with them a new big family. One of the major goals is that the children experience a non-violent and loving environment, which is unusual in Tanzania.

Even before the founding of the Nkondo Foundation the orphanage has beed supported by current members with a lot of commitment. This work will be continued in the future. Our goal is to promote a long-term care of the children, and the the purchase of new clothes and appropriate toys. In addition, later on money will be provided to enable the children to continue their education and attend the secondary school.
